The club’s ethos is based on having fun, meeting friends & socialising and generally being safe and secure in a relaxed environment. On returning to the after school club from school children have a light tea and are then free to choose how they spend their time until they are collected. The staff plan a full range of exciting activities relevant to children’s individual needs and ages. These range from craft to cooking to sporting activities (weather permitting of course). Children have the option to participate in these activities or just ‘chill’ with the other facilities and resources available which include computers, a ‘playstation’ and ‘kareoke’ to name but a few. Children get the chance to put their ideas forward when planning the activities for future weeks.
Our after school team are CRB checked and are vetted by (criminal records bureau) and hold childcare qualifications. Our staff have been chosen within an equal opportunities framework and are well supported and supervised. The facility is currently staffed by a permanent team of seven with a broad range of childcare experience including special needs and child protection training and some have children of their own, ranging from 3 years up to adulthood. The after school/holiday club facility is managed by Sally Malin, alongside Louise Judge Deputy manager.
